Hi, Has anyone had any luck with ESA Support Group for Sciatica. I had spinal surgery Dec 2016 (failed) compressed sciatic nerve, I am now in constant pain and on lots of medication, also depression.after loosing my job to begin with through all this in Aug 2016.
I initially got placed in WRAG back in Sept 2016 then it stopped Sept 2017 omg... I feel I fit the descriptors for Support Group and I am now beginning an Appeal after no luck with MR.
Anyone help.

What activities did you score against? Do any of these lead to the SG or are you going to have meet something new?

Remember it's not the condition that is being assessed but the limitations that result from it.

Hi Gordon,
By all accounts ref Surgeons letter I should be in the support group as I cannot walk further than 15yards without extreme pain and discomfort.
At the Assessment it was noted ' she walked the 50m to interview room slowly with the help of her Daughter, kept stopping due to pain' surely that is enough?

ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.
