Replied by Gordon on topic ESA

So would you have problems self-propelling a manual wheelchair? Did you explain these on the ESA50? Don't assume that those assessing you will make the leap from, as an example; Arthritis in your shoulder and hands to an inability to propel the wheelchair.

Re the walking, you are not required to walk without pain, but any significant discomfort that limits the distance that you walk should be taken into account.

Do you believe that you walked 50m at the assessment? Did you stop? Could you have repeated the distance (which is a requirement)? Were you breathless at the end? What other activities do you do, for example do you have problems walking in your home? Are there activities that argue against the distance you say you can walk, for example do you go shopping?
