Face2Face - how likely? was created by Alison W.
I have been on Indefinite DLA and am transferring to PIP. I’m not
well enough for a doctor’s visit and didn’t have to have one last time.

How likely am I to be seen?

I have Fibromyalgiamyalgia and ME so prejudice is an issue.

I'm afraid the vast majority of PIP claimants will be required to attend a face to face assessment.

You may be able to arrange a home assessment with the help of your GP, who will need to write to the Assessment Provider for your area explaining unequivocally why you cannot attend at their offices.

A Paper Based Review is another option but will be dependant on the assessor being able to make a recommendation based on the in information you have supplied and usually that there would be a risk to your health if required to attend, but these are very rare and you should not rely on receiving a PBR.

Would the fact that I was given Indefinite DLA 10 years ago, after 28 years of
illness getting steadily worse, 13 years of DLA and DWP medical sat home and
a letter from my GP outlining my prognosis.

10 years later, I have a Doctors letter saying I’m not going to get better and her
aim is to keep me in the Community as long as possible.

I’m including my Care Plan for 12 hours care per week, I was referred by Social Services who pay half my fees. Also other evidence letters. Carer, Friend, District Nurse.

Although the information you refer to may still be relevant to your PIP Claim your will require a new letter from your GP if you are to get a home assessment or a PBR, also, the criteria for PIP is very different from that for DLA so you need to start from scratch in showing it's applicability to your claim.

The second letter saying I’m housebound a d not going to get better is Jan 2018

It doesn’t make specific reference to a DWP visit.

Would 10 years on indefinite benefits be helpful to mention?
