Advice please DLA to PIP was created by Lucy S
Hoping somebody can advise. Aside from being on DLA hrc/hrm for myself i am also appointee for my son who has an extremely rare chromosome duplication. He was awarded indefinite DLA, and invited to apply for pip in dec. I sent back the pip 2 form by end jan and the date they had given however they are stating the forms have not been received (i didnt send recorded more fool me) so his dla has been stopped and they have sent me another pip 2 form the only problem i am having is at the moment i am going through a really bad flare of my own conditions. My mind keeps going blank i cant get to CAB etc to get help. Im reading the guides but im just stumped and foggy at the moment. I can get a few professionals to help when my time comes to apply for PIP but my sons condition is so rare and the support i had when i did his dla forms has been cut. Can anybody advise please, this form is now affecting my own mental health and stressing me out i dont know where to turn

I'm afraid there may be little that you can do in regard his original claim for PIP if you have no proof that the DWP received his form. You can request an MR but it is very unlikely that the DWP will reverse their Decision and even though appeal panels tend to have a broader view of the issues, I still think it unlikely that they will find in your favour, if nothing else, appeals are taking months to be heard.

As to his re-claiming, I assume you did not take copies of his original application.

Try doing an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county, you can also try any charities that specialise in his conditions.

You can request an extension to the date you need to return the form by if that will help, contact the DWP office dealing with his claim.

Do you not remember, at least in outline, that you wrote in the original form?

We can help you understand the criteria but we cannot tell you what to write on the form, so if you have questions about this then reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
