I went for my tribunal on Friday the 9 of March had all my documents from doctors consultants and psychiatrist was faced by a judge a doctor a member of disability and sitting next to me was a member of the DWP my first f/f assessment was a year ago I was given 10 points for care
And 8 points for mobility .........I suffer from cirrhosis of the liver depression and anxiety my cirrhosis is getting worse that I have bouts of hepatic encephalopathy a decline in brain function which causes me to be confused with antidepressants and antipsychotic tablets I find it hard to focus but that didn’t stop the panel asking me and grilling me for 1hour and 10 mins asking the same questions to trip me up with DWP telling the board there were inconsistencies in my answers and more or less called me a liar....... my representive did not speak a word so I wasn’t surprised when my award had just stayed the same .........is there any other thing I can do as I feel that just accepting it is another nail in your rights for living with a ilnesss thanks in advance stephen

What does your Representative say? They will have the best understanding of your appeal.!

You can request a Statement of Reasons in the hope of showing that there was an Error of Law in the Tribunals' Decision

Tribunals – Requesting a Statement of Reasons

What is an Error of Law?

You also have the option, if your limitations have increased since the Decision that you appealed of asking for your award to be looked at, but you should look carefully at whether you can score the extra points for higher award first.

Hi Lawson.
I have the same medical conditions as you. Could I ask you what town or area your tribunal was in, I'm in Bolton. I don't want to have to go through the same ordeal as you. Thanks. Take care.
Dave.

Hi moderator
Is is not a error of law to ask someone that suffers from a confused memory brought on by his illness and his medication on November last year I was admitted to hospital and I did not know where I was on the second night in hospital I asked to leave ,and that I would sign myself out ... to wich they informed me that they would have to section me that was not the only time it happened I got the idea that if they kept going that eventually I would trip up and I don’t know if I have or not ...ps could I get a copy of a letter I have to send to the tribuneral ...I have been a member here for a while and should have done it through B&W but hind sight is a great thing and for people going to tribunals do as much work yourself and don’t rely on representives after all they just go for a long relaxing hour and a half on the sum up she was asked for some output and she just shook her head the only one that never gave output to the recordings

Thanks Stephen

I'm afraid we don't have a template letter to request a SoR, just write to the venue where you hearing was heard with your Tribunal Reference Number, asking the Judge to produce a Statement of Reasons and a Record of Proceedings from your hearing.

You need to wait for the SoR to see if there has been an Error, I have to warn you that we will struggle to provide assistance with this as we have no sight of the documents used in your appeal.

I'm afraid asking about your history would not be an Error.
