Re-esa reassessment was created by tango
Hi there a friend of mine recently got a form for a reassessment which she filled in and sent back.
On the form at the end it says is there any dates in the next 3 months when you will not be available for esa face to face and she put that she would not be able to attend a esa face to face until after March 29 due to the bereavement of her father and that she would be away from home sorting his affairs out.
When I checked her mail today Tey have sent her a assessment for the 23 March I don't think they read the forms.
Do you have the number for the call centre please and their email address so I can ring them for her to rearrange the appointment and make a complaint about them ignoring the dates on the forms when she will not be available.
She will also want the face to face recorded
Thanks

Contact information will be in the letter.

It is very important that Maximus accept responsibility for the current date being unacceptable, or your friend will be counted as having used one of the two appointments they are allowed before their file is returned to the DWP for failing to attend.

DO you have authority to act on behalf of your friend, Maximus might not accept your call?

Hi Gordon thanks for email contacted them and they got straight back to me apologising and don't know why appointment sent out before 28 march as it had been put on their system that she was not available until after 28 march she said appointment for 23 march had been cancelled and a new one would be sent out after 28 march.
It was somebody called Christine who said she was the customer relations manager who replied. We shall wait and see if the appointment on 23 was actually cancelled but at least I have proof now. If there are any problems
Thanks tango

hi just give you an update on the situation.

om Saturday 30 march my friend received a letter from dwp` threatening to stop her money because she didn't attend medical on 23 march and a form to send back to them explain why she didn't attend and this had to be back by today 3 April they must have forgot it was Easter and no post or perhaps they didn't.
anyway my friend filled the form in and sent a copy of email from assessment service provider promising to rearrange appointment and sent it back Saturday by registered post.
she emailed sevice provider about this matter and I have copied and pasted email below wih names omitted
I would be interested on your thoughts on this matter.

I recently return an ESA 50 form to you and on the form where it says are there any dates when you are not available in the next 3 months I told you that I would not be available until after the 28 march 2018due to the bereavement of my father and having to go away from home to my sisters to sort my late fathers affairs out.
Despite this you have sent me a letter out so I have been informed by my daughter to attend a medical assessment at Huddersfield medical centre.
Obviously I will not be attending this assessment because I will be still away from home and wish for this appointment to be rearranged for a date after the 28 march. Also I will want the assessment recorded and I want it noted that this rearrangement should not be counted as my one cancellation as informed you I would not be available before 29 march.
I cannot talk on the phone because of my mental and nervous state to strangers at the moment so my daughter is going to ring your call centre on my behalf to rearrange the appointment but if they won't accept the call will you please rearrange this appointment through this email.
It looks like who ever sends appointments out was not notified about me been able to attend before 29 march and this is not the kind of service I would expect from your company.
I have sent a copy of this email to my mp.

there reply was

Please accept my sincerest apologies.

It is noted on the system that you are not available until after the 28th March and I am unable to explain why an appointment has been booked for the 23rd March.

I have asked our Contact Centre to cancel this appointment at my request and to rebook you another appointment for after the 28th March.

her reply back to them after not cancelling appointment.

hi there,
regarding the matter below, it has come to my attention that you did not cancel my appointment on the 23 march 2018 and return my file to the dwp and they have been in touch threatening to stop my money.
This is despite you promising below to cancel the appointment. I suggest you now contact the dwp on my behalf and explain to them why I did not attend the appointment and get my file back and rearrange the appointment again.
I will be also explaining to the dwp on the form they sent out why I did not attend and sending them a copy of the email below of you promising to rearrange the appointment.
This is not the kind of service that I, the general public, the tax paying public, the government who are paying you public money to carry out the service expects and I now wish to make a serious complaint against your organisation.
I will be sending a copy of all the correspondence about this matter to my mp who will probably contact you about this matter.
I am now feeling suicidal and sat here crying what with the recent bereavement of my father and now all this from your company that cant get their act together and the dwp now threatening to stop my money.
and there reply back
I did ask for your appointment to be rebooked and I am sorry to hear this did not happen.

Having looked at your referral details it would appear that the DWP have re-referred you to us and our Leeds offices are waiting for your file to arrive.

so if they gan be believed the dwp have not stopped her money and have sent the file back to service providefs. i will keep you updated
regards Tango
