I have been awarded PIP at the standard rate for daily living. I received 8 points and although I think I should have been awarded more points my biggest concern is that I have only been awarded 4 points for my mobility. The "My Decision" section contains a number of errors.
My conditions which affect my mobility include arthritis in all my joints, an unrepairable tendon in a foot, scoliosis, back pain and nerve damage.
My consultant's letter submitted stated I can walk for around 20 metres and even so in pain. They decided I could stand and move more than 50 metres but no more than 200 metres (4 points).
I am worried that if I ask for a mandatory reconsideration that they may revise downwards my already awarded 8 points for daily living thereby no PIP. To compound matters I have been very ill recently and have only now been able to turn my attention to this and have not even requested the full report. I literally only have a few days to decide.
If I don't go down the Mandatory Reconsideration route, I note that you are meant to inform DWP if your condition improves or worsens. Has anyone any experience of submitting further information at a later date and been awarded extra points?

You can make a Late request for an MR providing your Good Cause for it being late is accepted, being too ill to make the request should be a good reason for it's lateness.
An MR re-makes the original Decision that means that it can increase, leave as is, reduce or even remove your current award, the latter does not happen very often, but it does happen and you need to consider the risk, for example how secure do you think that the 8 points you currently have are?
You can leave your award as it is and report a Change later, but this will result in a full reassessment of your claim, so you will need to prove all of your limitations from scratch.
