PIP decision and Motability was created by Caz
In Nov 2016 I had Atos assessment to move fro DLA to PIP, 24 years on DLA High rate mobility amd medium rate help at home. After assessment I stayed on High Rate mobiltiy 12pts and received enhanced rate for help 16pts. Had to have review in 1 year which happenned on Feb 12th just got decision knocked down to standard mobility 10pts no help at home 6pts cannot believe the difference between 2 assessors. This means my car has to go back to Motability despite have a car with them for now 25 years I don't get the £2,000 transition payment because of get PIP high rate when moving from DLA, this last assessment is classed as ongoing PIP new contract so I only get £250 help and car goes back within a month. A mandatory Reconsideration has been asked for today and if high rate mobility is installed I have to go through all new process of getting a car unless a decision comes through before I hand back car, but I don't believe in miracles,

If you have not already done so, contact the DWP office dealing with your claim and ask for a copy of the assessment report so you can get a more detailed understanding of how they have reached their Decision.

My mandatory. R decision (wonderful more than we could have hoped for) was received the same day as we spent £500 on adaptions to an old car we had to buy to keep my husband mobile as he can hardly walk.and we had that day returned our motability car after ,like you ,25 years, this was in February now end of march and still problems sorting out.

So sorry to hear you had to go through all of that, I was told today by Motability that if I get the right decision and it is even on day I have to hand back my present car if I let them know straight away they would something out for me to keep the car. It is all on a tight time scale and it sometimes feels as though it is never working in our favour. I hope you and your husbands problems work themselves out..
