Apologies but I have 1 further question. If we go down the change of circumstances route instead of cancelling the claim and my son refuses to attend the medical what happens? Do they just cease payment of pip or demand that you pay back everything received to date? As I said he gets very stressed by new things ( as he is autistic) so a refusal to engage is a very likely outcome

If a face to face is required and he refuses to attend then his file will be returned to the DWP, they will contact you for his reasons, they can either close his claim or ask the Assessment Provider to carry out a Paper Based Review, however, the decision on this still lies with the AP.
