I have subscribed today. Can anyone advise please...A few years ago partner had his DLA stopped. He went to appeal, won, and given an Indefinite Award for High Rate Mobility and Middle Rate Care Component. He also receives ESA and in the Group where he is not expected to seek work due to his illness. He has an Interstitial Lung Disease, Unable to breath difficulty in walking any distance Mental Health issues due to Frontal Lobe Damage, resulting in Anxiety, Depression, Short Term and some long term memory loss and problems with Anger We have been waiting since circa 2015 for the PIP Application Forms to arrive our Area is PL. Can anyone advise me please on how far behind DWP are behind with existing claims. Will his previous Appeal and Indefinite Award help in any way towards his PIP. Although I have asked for copies of his Hospital Letters, they seem reluctant to arrange it. Will the letters make any difference to his Claim. It is becoming frustrating and worrying. Any help and advice will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The PIP transfer process is running late and is not now expected to complete before late next year and even this date seems optimistic. Claimants are being chosen at random so they could be invited tomorrow or in a couple of years.

Evidence from their DLA claim may help with a PIP claim but the criteria is very different so you will need to show the relevance to the PIP activities.

I would recommend that you have a read of our PIP Claim guide to get a better understanding of the process and the criteria.

Hi thank you for your welcome and help, unfortunately we all have to wait for DWP then, its unfair and worrying in equal measure. You would have thought they would sort this mess before introducing UC. I have downloaded various Guides to read, they should keep me occupied. Thank you again I have also taken your advice and removed my name.

There are some thoughts with regard to using existing DLA evidence. When making the initial phone call to claim PIP you should be asked if you want your existing DLA to be taken into consideration, You should always ask for this to happen.
It is a bit belt and braces but might be useful in the event of a tribunal in that there should be some justification in removing an existing award even though the criteria are different
