I have secondary progressive ms and have just messed up by ESA assessment.I actually walked 100 metres down the corridor of my assessment clinging on to the wall as my balance is shot and to be honest I normally I can`t do this as I use a wheelchair most of the time.I was told this would make me available for the work related group where before I was in the support group even though my diagnosis was upgraded to secondary progressive a year ago.So my diagnosis has worsened but they are moving me groups as I only tried to do what I could at the interview.Any advice for this idiot without being rude.Normally I can never cover that distance but I do get confused and agitated.I have been in bed exhausted for 2 days since

Do you actually mean 100m, that's a very big building!

ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

How did you qualify for the SG previously?

Have you actually had a Decision yet?

I originally was in the support group when i had RRMS but now have SPMS and am afraid i am going to lose it because i hobbled down the corridor with my walking stick as i do try and walk alittle as my right side muscles in my arms and legs are beginning to waste away .I did need to use the wall as support .The wheelchair i use when friends take me out i can`t use it on my own i don`t have the strength.Without the wall there i would not have made it.

All you can do at this stage is wait for the Decision, we would expect it to take around 2-4 weeks.
