Mandatory Reconsideration Request was created by Luna
Good afternoon,

We sent off my 22 year old daughters Mandatory Reconsideration on the 16th February 2018 and apart from 2 texts received 21/3/2018 and 9/4/2018 respectfully, saying it had been received and we should get a answer in approximately 6 weeks we have heard nothing.
It will be 9 weeks on Friday, should we have had an answer by now or am I expecting too much?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I would give the DWP a ring I would have expected an MR to have been complete by now.

Hello Gordon,

Thank you for your advice on MR and changing my forum name, rookie mistake :)

I called up the same day and explained I had sent the MR by special delivery in February and was waiting for a decision, well over 6 weeks later. The person on the telephone said they had received the MR on the 1st March it then took 3 weeks to be registered and until it was registered they didn't start working on it. I had never heard of needing to register a MR and when I asked what this entailed and why he said he didn't have that information.

I was told the MR is currently being worked on.

I called back again today almost a week later and was told it was still being worked on and supplementary information had been asked for from the assessors.

When I asked for the name of the person I was asking for as I keep a log on all calls she wouldn't give me her surname and said everything was logged on the computer so I wouldn't need it.

I feel as if they make it up as they go along.

The Request has to logged on the DWP computer systems, it sounds as if it has sat on someone's desk for several weeks before this happened.
