hi forum
im currently on UC and have been submitting fit notes in, been told i should get a WCA soon. my GP put depression on my fit note, but the main reason for my depression is HS Hidradenitis Suppurativa which is a chronic skin condition. ive suffered for more than 20 years and its painful and depressing for me to go out of the house. my hs gives me large abscesses in my armpits groin and around my breasts. a few leak continuously. what would be my chances of getting put into one of the group? we recently applied for UC as my husband lost his job we havent applied benefits before which is why i was happy to stay hidden at home. now on UC i have to look for work and go to meetings which is making my anxiety go though the roof. any help or advice will be grateful

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Have you completed and returned a UC50?

Have you talked to your advisor about being moved out of the All work-related requirements group as a result of your Fit Notes and pending WCA?

i am now on 0 hours work commitment after submitting the 2nd fit note. i didnt declare an illness as i had no idea what universal credit was. we tried applying for jobseekers but kept getting sent to universal credit page so applied for it. my work coach has said nothing about any forms or wca. i was told by wca on another forum. im also being told i should apply for pip too as that can help with the work search part of universal credit. but ive no idea if i should or would be entitled to any of these.

But you say you are expecting a WCA in your first post, this won't happen until a UC50 has been completed and that won't happen unless your work coach arranges for you to be sent one.

How long have you been receiving UC?

we applied for UC on 25 feb 2018, i didn't mention any health issues or disabilities when i started my uc claim as i haven't claimed anything before. i gave my 1st fit note in on the 23/03/2018-19/04/2018 and gave my 2nd fit note in on 19/04/2018-17/05/2018. i was told on another forum that i would be sent out a WCA questionnaire after 28 days on fit note. i haven't applied these benefits before so i have no idea about the stages or procedures im afraid. sorry if my 1st post was confusing. my work coach just told me to see her in 4 weeks and bring another fit note in if i was issued with one.

That makes more sense, so yes, the next stage is for you to receive a UC50 form to complete and return.

Our ESA guides cover this, the criteria is exactly the same. See
