My request for PIP assessment Home visit denied

It's 6 days since my home assessment and today I received a text from the DWP saying they've received the report and I should hear from them within 4 weeks.

I was in a very emotional state during the assessment so just answered every question honestly and tried to do the movement asked each time until the nurse stopped me seeing my pain. I cried all the way through.

I'd gone through the points and questions beforehand and knew that I can't walk over 50 metres without a lot of opioids to do so (evidenced) and without considerable pain afterwards. That's evidenced by my answers and letters from my GP and CPN and my regular prescription print out so I'm sure I will get those points.

But to achieve enhanced mobility I needed more points and I met two further criteria. The difficult to evidence one of needing an orientation aid to go to an unfamiliar place but the one easily evidenced is the getting extremely distressed after outings especially appointments or anything social. I self harm to calm down and self medicate. This is evidence on my application form and again by the letters from my GP and CPN and all of the different dressings I am prescribed for my wounds are on my regular prescription list.

However it wasn't until after the consultation because I was in such a state that although the nurse had asked questions about my mobility and pain and self care such as washing, dressing, nutrition etc she didn't ask a single question about how distressed I get when out, or when I get back etc. Does this mean I may not score any points for that because it wasn't talked about at the consultation or will my evidence on the application form and the letters from my GP and CPN be enough? It just seems strange she didn't mention it at the time and I was too distressed to think straight.

The DWP have the evidence for those extra points I need to get an enhanced mobility award both in my application form, and my evidence letters from professionals and the full prescription list but it won't be evidenced in any way from the consultation as it wasn't talked about.

Is this going to influence the DWP decision, that it wasn't mentioned at the consultation or will they be okay with just paper evidence for that?

What do I do if they award me standard but I know I meet the criteria for enhanced mobility? I can't offer further evidence, they already have it in paper form.

Thank you.

Contact the DWP office dealing with your claim and ask for a copy of the assessment report to be sent, that way you will know what has been recommended.

If you don't receive the award that you expect then you can challenge the Decision.

Thank you.

I've just called them. They said the report should be with me in 10-14 days time and the DWP decision letter will come about 2 weeks after that.

Is it always the case that the DWP decide to award what the nurse assessor has recommended or does the DWP sometimes decide on a different award?

I'm try to ascertain whether the recommendation on the assessor's report will be what the DWP award.

Thanks.

The Decision Maker usually follows the recommendation of the assessor.

I received 2 brown envelopes on Thursday which was confusing. One was half of the assessment form with just the assessors written explanations of information she gained from the assessment which made no sense to me at all and there was no recommendation or points or anything. The second brown envelope went chronologically through each question with a black dot next to the option response from the question she felt was the right one and underneath she wrote a few sentences explaining why she had chosen that option response. Each question carried on like that. At the end it stated that I should not be assessed for 3 years and in answer to the question is the claimant's condition likely to have changed in 3 years time and she said no. I had absolutely no idea what the result was so I came to the online PIP test on this site and chose the answer to each question that she had chosen on her report and the scores came to 18 points for daily living and 12 for mobility.
I spent Thursday too distressed to do anything but cry I don't know why. I still don't know for sure that the DWP will agree with the report but considering each answer the assessor chose she evidenced in full why she chose that I keep thinking they can't challenge it surely.
I told myself not to get my hopes up but have done that anyway. I researched motability cars with the criteria I need, automatic as left leg use is so painful etc and came across a car with full lumber adjustment which considering it's my spine that's causing all this pain and I have to be in certain positions to reduce pain sounds ideal so I've picked the car already. I cry at the thought of being able to leave the house, to go to a shop, the post office, the pain clinic, physiotherapy, all places I couldn't access. I'll have a reason to get dressed most days. Honestly I've let my mind run away with me and if the DWP decision letter doesn't agree with the assessment I will fall apart when I've allowed myself hope and the realisation that my life could change dramatically if I can leave the house. I'm very stressed, have really high anxiety and I've cried a lot. It might be release of tension having seen the report, it might be anxiousness about not knowing for sure the decision. I'm even scared about driving again as I've been housebound without transport for over 2 years.
I will let you know the actual result when the DWP letter arrives which they said would be another 12 days ish. Seems like an eternity.

It would be unusual for the DM not to follow the recommendation of the assessor, so hopefully the points will be confirmed when you receive the Decision.
