Hi, my mobility award was dropped in my last assessment although my condition was much worse. I was too tired out to fight it. Now in addition to the fibromyalgia, CFS and arthritis I find that 'suddenly' I have become almost unable to walk at all and pressed for this to be investigated. I am still awaiting MRI to check for MS but have also been told I need to have both hips replaced. Do I take a chance and tell them in the hope they will give me a higher award, allowing me a mobility scooter? Not very savvy with benefits, all advice very welcome. Thank you in advance.

Your post suggests that your limitations have increased recently.

You have in principle two options, however, both are dependant on your having had your new problems for at least three months.

You can still challenge the existing Decision providing it is not more than 13 months since it was made, however, you cannot include your new problems in challenge, they can only consider your health as it was when then the Decision was made.

You can report a Change of Circumstances, but be aware this will result in a full review of your claim, new claim form and almost certainly a face to face assessment.

To do this, write to the DWP office dealing with your claim, if you can send it using a tracked post so that you have proof of delivery.
