Typical Day PIP was created by mumsgirl
I will be getting a PIP form sent to me soon (to replace DLA) and I am worried what to write (or say at assessment) if they ask about a typical day. Basically I don't do anything! Some may call me lazy but due to a plethora of mental illness I can't get motivated and I don't do anything, I just can't be botheredto do anything including bathe and I get anxious and panic struck trying to think of what needs done that nothing gets done. Im also very tired all the time due to insomia and side effects of anti depressants. What are peoples typical days please?

The PIP2 doesn't ask about your typical day, PIP looks at your ability to complete 10 Daily Living activities and 2 Mobility activities. Have a look at our PIP Claim guide to help you complete the form.

I'm reading through the guide and am a bit concerned because it says they may phone you. I do have a phone line (I need it for internet) and I also have a home phone but I keep it unplugged as I don't like speaking to people. Do I really have to keep my phone plugged in incase they phone me, and what would happen if I don't?

You do not need to accept any phone calls about your PIP claim, so don't worry about leaving your phone unplugged.

Thanks Gordon,
I'm just starting to go through the questions now. Would it be ok to use the word 'prompt' (even though its one of their words, I think??) or should I just stick to encourage or remind?

There should be no issue you using the same wording that the DWP use, just make sure, whatever wording you use you explain what you mean and why you need the prompting, encouragement or reminding.
