Re arranging pip f2f due to exams was created by Lindseyf
Hi, had the f2f appointment for my son come for a day when he has two GCSE - I called to explain to which I was told if I cancel it they will send another - I asked what would happen if this was also on an exam day - I was told that that's it you only get 2 chances - surely this can not be right?
There is a half tem coming up and he could have an appointment then but the person I spoke to wasn't interested in the dates he could make an appointment?
Any advice?
Many thanks

I'm afraid claimants are only given two opportunities to attend.

Call them a call back and give them the dates of his exams, it's perfectly reasonable for him to expect any new assessment to be booked on a day that does not conflict.

So you think when I call back I should give a list of his exam dates and the dates he could attend and this should be taken into account?
What happens if the second appoitment also comes on an exam date even after requesting a date that he doesnt have one?
many thanks

I have the same worry. My son is also in his GCSE exams and i am worried they would want to see him during these times. Could you give us a update what has happened? Thank you.

Yes, tell them of the dates, his needing to attend these exams should be accepted as Good Cause for not being available for an assessment. You need to pre-empt an appointment being made that conflicts as it will be a lot easier to argue changing the date than having to deal with his failing to attend.

Thanks Gordon, I'm phoning on Monday, do you think I could ask for the interview to be when his exams finish on 15th June? He has an exam nearly every day until then. The days he has no exams his school are doing study/revision days (son has asd and goes to a school with asd base) which we want him to attend as he needs all the help he can get and could do without the stress of the pip interview during this stressful period.
many thanks
