You may be able to make a new claim for ESA(CB) as well as a claim Contributory JSA (for six months), providing you can meet the Contribution Conditions, your ESA will provide partial cover but you will need at least 26 weeks of NI Contributions (not Credits) in one of the two Tax Years 2015-16 or 2016-17.

Sorry but I am a bit confused, you said in your first post that you could not claim ESA(IR) due to the number of hours your partner works?
