Emailing DWP - Reasonable Adjustments. was created by John Mac
Having had a problem with lost forms even though I sent them recorded delivery I made a formal complaint and was contacted by DWP PIP customer services and during our conversation I requested that I be allowed to email the DWP PIP department rather than have to wait on the phone and also not to have a record of conversations when they ring me back or transfer my call away from the original call department where it was being recorded. I requested this under the DDA as a “reasonable adjustment” and have been approved and can now email them instead of having to telephone them or them telephoning me. This gives me time to ensure I ask everything I need to as part of my problem is concentration and taking in verbal information quickly. Just letting people know in case dealing by email would be better for you.

You need to ring them and ask them that they make a Reasonable adjustment and allow you to correspond via email. They will ask why and you need to explain the problems you have in using the telephone and they will then send you an authorisation email and Contact email address.
