second assessment

second assessment was created by cazcomps
I had a DLA to PIP migration assessment at home in January and waited for results. A few weeks ago I got a letter telling me I need an assessment and giving me an appointment for a home visit.

I phoned and said I'd had an assessment and was told that the DWP had rejected it because the assessor 'did not get enough information'.

The assessor was here for an hour and a half and did the assessment from the information asked for on their computer, presumably following the programme mandated by the DWP. So does this programme not give all the required information?

I suspected that either the DWP lost the file or are stalling for time because they have a backlog. I have since spoken to a friend who says she is a member of a forum where this is suddenly a common occurrence.

The operators for this area are Capita. I'd be interested to know if it's just Capita clients having the second assessment, or maybe people who had original assessments early in the year.

I have to wait for a decision from DWP, apparently, before I can ask for a copy of the report. Also, the person I spoke to at Capita told me I may have to put in a subject access request to get a copy of the first report, as the DWP will probably only send me a copy of the second report on request.

I am getting extremely stressed as I never know whether my next payment will turn up. This has been going on for five months, and now I find I'm one of many being subjected to the repeat assessment.

Is anyone else on here going through this?

My repeat assessment is tomorrow morning. I'll let you know what happens.

This is certainly not a common occurrence that we see here and I haven't seen it on any of the other forums that I check regularly. The most likely reason, as you have been told, is because the report was substandard and could not be used to help make a Decision.

As the first report is not being used for the Decision, you may not be able to get a copy of it, even with a Subject Access Request but you lose nothing by making the request.

I can't see why the DWP are refusing you a copy of the second report, there is no legal reason why this should be the case, it would be worth you phoning again, a different operator may release it to you.
