Where to send later additional iinformation was created by King_Drax_I
Hi there - I have just received a supporting letter from a friend, which I wish to include as evidence in my PIP claim to help my case.

I sent in my PIP claim form well before the closing date for my PIP submission and they have received it; the closing date for my application is today (19th May).

Two questions: 1) am I too late to send the evidence; 2) where do I send additional evidence like this? I sent my initial claim form to a 'Post Handling Site B' in Wolverhampton; do I send it there?

Thanks in advance

No you are not too late.

I would send a copy to the Assessment Provider for your postcode

Capita
www.capita-pip.co.uk/contact-us.aspx

IAS (formerly ATOS)
www.mypipassessment.co.uk/contact-us/

Take a copy to any assessment you have and ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file before it is returned to the DWP.

Lastly send a copy directly to the DWP using the address on the letter that accompanied the form.

Thanks Gordon. As I live in the South of England, I contacted Independent Assessment Services (formerly ATOS) in order to get their address. However, the very helpful young lady I spoke to said that if I send it to them, they would only forward it to the DWP anyway. So therefore send it to the DWP direct.

Quite how this works I don't know, because my assessment appointment is in just over a week, and if they send it to the DWP, then it gets sent to IAS to go with my claim form, then the HP has to study it all...I do wonder how they are going to do their job properly. But I will make sure I take a copy with me to the assessment! Thanks again for your help :)

I'm not convinced that the lady you spoke to is correct, yes the information is sent back to the DWP, after the assessment has happened!

Lots of other members have had no problems in submitting new evidence in advance of the assessment taking place and it has been processed by the Assessment Provider.

Well, I have just called them again and they were quite insistent that I send it to DWP, who apparently 'scan it on to the system' and they then 'make sure' it gets to IAS. She also said that if I was at all worried I was to take the documents along to the assessment as well - which I was going to do anyway. It's interesting; nowhere on the Internet can I find a mailing address for IAS. Maybe it will be on my appointment letter, which I am expecting today. This may after all be a new system they have set up... I have also asked if they can see the item on their system but they have said that all the information they have about me is what arrived with the initial claim, so the DWP haven't sent it to them yet. Then again, the DWP will only have received it on Monday 21st May anyway, so it's probably in a scanning queue somewhere. I will keep you posted.
