Telephone call was created by Christine
My son, who is on the autistic spectrum, had his f2f at the beginning of the month (1st). I as his appointee and due to the fact he doesn't interact with strangers very well, did most of the talking. The assessor was very friendly and polite (I know that's no indicator of how things will proceed) and said I should hear back within 4 weeks. Then on the 14th I got a telephone call from the assessor saying the DWP have asked for clarification on 3 points. - strange as I had already given exactly the same information at the f2f. Is this normal procedure? One question he did ask was "do you class your sons inability to go out alone as a disability or a disadvantage" Taken off guard I didn't know quite how to reply... I said it depends on ones views and its really just semantics - have I jeapodised anything by my reply? One last question, I had already rang for a copy of the assessment prior to this call, so would I need to call again to make sure I also get the added contents of the phone CALL? Sorry for waffling , but I am getting so anxious about the results.
Any help gratefully received.

I'm not sure what they were asking either :(

The additional comments by the assessor will be documented on a PA5, I would not expect this to be sent to you unless you request it.

Received YET ANOTHER call from the assessor today asking more questions ... more questions that I had already answered. One thing he did ask and was trying desperately to get me to answer one way or the other was "Do you think your sons refusal to go out alone is due to his cognitive skills or his anxiety. I said it was a knock on effect, his cognitive skills are not very good and this increases his anxiety which in turn makes his cognitive skills even worse. I feel LIKE I and my son are on trial - how many more phone calls before they reach a decision. Surely his disability is what it is and shouldn't come down to playing with WORDS!

It sounds as if they are considering Descriptor (e) of the Going Out activity, this would be awarded for overwhelming psychological distress.
