Please don't assume that the call centre staff know what they are talking about, I've had a phone call where the operator was adamant that something did not apply and I was sitting with legislation in front of me and could see that it did.

OK so the ED Premium is paid for two reasons; the claimant is receiving DLA Higher Rate Care or PIP Enhanced Daily Living OR the claimant is in the ESA Support Group.

The IS10 is connected to the Severe Disability Premium and is used to capture information about your living arrangements.

ESA(CB) is always paid if the claimant meets the criteria but is treated as income for the ESA(IR) so your payments will look something like (the numbers are made up)

ESA(IR) - £110
EDP - £15
SDP - £60
=======
£185
ESA(CB) £110 -
=======
£75

So you would receive £75 ESA(IR) and £110 ESA(CB).

I never assume they know what they are talking about! Still, it can be disconcerting when you are certain you qualify and are told you do not. We should not have to be benefits experts to get what we qualify for, but that seems to be the case. The EDP is important because I should have been receiving it for years and I will insist on it being backdated from 2014, although it should be backdated further.

I qualify for both the premiums. I meet the criteria and I won't be letting some DWP bod tell me I don't.
I've already told them about my living arrangements in my application but I guess they want to make sure.
I'll continue with it as there is a significant difference in income and in future, I may not receive it due to UC or other changes. Not sure if they will apply to me but it is possible.

Cheers for the input. Patience and all will come good. :)
