You can but it won't be paid as they are considered to be overlapping benefits, If you are receiving or are eligible to receive ESA(IR) then a Carers Premium of about £35/week can be paid.
Also be aware, if your caring duties are considered to in conflict with the reasons you receive ESA then it could result in an early reassessment.
