hello everyone its my first time asking the forum a question so i hope im in the right place,,my question is about a form that landed on my doormat today,,it was saying that i or my wife has asked them to let my wife be an appointee, saying i must fill this form in and return it then when i looked into it they dident seem to know what to say to me..the upshot is that if i sighn the form asking for my wife to take over my claim then i would get a visit to see if i need this help,,the thing is we never ever asked them for anything,,,when my wife phoned up she was on hold on one phone for an hour and a half, and on the other for the same just about,,,one person saying wemust not fill this form in untill they contact us next week,,,but then another lady told us our money my dla had been stopped, untill they recieve the form with the account we want the money to go into,,its all very confusing,,but what has raised the alarm bell is the fact that while we was on the phone the man who had come onto the phone re instated my claim for dla..and said he dident know if they had stoped my other benafits,,,so we was on the phone again for an hour untill 6 pm when they closed,,,how can a man on the swichboard re-instate my payments when they had been stopped,,maybey it was him who stopped them and dident expect a phone call from us so that we would have had our money stopped and we would have had an un sheduled visit to do a back door face to face..otherwise how could he reinstate my claim without asking anyone,,,,,has anyone else on here had any experieance of this underhand way of treatment????,,,,sorry its so long winded but im scared of loosing my money with all the storys i hear,,,i would be very gratefull for any help,,,,thank you all somuch,,,,john

John

I would not do anything until you can speak to the DWP again on Tuesday.

If you or your wife have not requested the appointee papers then you should not need to complete them, nor should it have any impact on your papers. If you get the same response from the call operators then ask for a manager to phone you back.
