There was a case about a year ago where the claimant was able to make use of a covert recording at the their Tribunal, however, this does not set a precedent for other hearings.

Whether such a recording will be admitted will be down to Judge in charge of your hearing. I would contact them well in advance of the hearing but don't be surprised if the have no interest in the recording.

Appeals are won by the claimant showing that the meet the criteria for one, time is limited and the panel will most likely want to understand how you meet the PIP Descriptors rather than hear that the information in the assessment report is flawed.

If you want the recording to have some effect then transcribe relevant sections (in full) into your appeal submission.
