I have been awarded PIP Higher for Living and Lower for Mobility. At the time of my application I said I could not walk more than 20m due to health conditions, so disagreed with the Lower award. I have since had two procedures of injections in my hips which has now made my mobility worse. How do I inform them of this and get them to change the award. Is it worth doing this as I am worried that they will then decline the whole thing. (I have read somewhere that they do this to people who want the awards changed). Thank you
You can report a change by writing to the DWP office dealing with your claim, if y ou do then send it using a Tracked post so that you have proof of delivery.
Doing so will result in you receiving a new PIP2 to complete and it is almost certain that you will have a face to face assessment, the new Decision, whatever it is, will superseded your existing award.
Are there any issues that argue against your walking distance, for example do you go shopping? How do you manage GP and Hospital appointments?
