letter to go from dla to pip arrived :( was created by lizzy0511
Hello, ive had the letter to say my dla is stopping and i need to apply for pip. i have kept all letters over the years from previous reviews etc, one of the questions i would like to ask is, i won an appeal, unanimously over ten years ago, can i mention this and submit the outcome of that or could it be seen as ... ive won one before (if this review does go to appeal) so ill win this one?! i dont want to "rub" them up the wrong way or will it help to include it. Also my last review on dla was in 2008, ive since had more major surgery and health is alot worse, ( i get at moment with dla high rate on both, and it was indefinite!) will it help to also include some consultant letters from the last 10 years to prove im alot worse than in 2008? i hopefully will also been getting some current help/letters from health professional to back me up.
I have another 14 days before i have to ring to say i want to apply for pip but im trying to get as much information etc before i ring and get the forms sent to me. the more evidence i send the better i assume?
ps how long do i have once i get the pip forms to send it back please? assume it takes awhile them for the reply? many thanks for your help liz.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

You can include any or all of the information but you need to explain why it is relevant to your PIP claim, the criteria for PIP is fundamentally different from the DLA you were previously assessed for.

Have a look at our PIP Claim guide to understand the criteria you will need to show that you meet.
