Moving from DLA to PIP was created by joshisidhu
Hi,

I had my assessment on Sun 10th after MIND submitted my form. It’s taken me a week to recover. It was very triggering, and I couldn't answer many of the questions, but my friend answered most on my behalf.

I had a stroke in Nov 2013, have PTSD, depression, BPD, non-epileptic seizures disorder, blackouts, diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, double incontinence especially during seizures, anxiety, panic attacks etc. I'm on DLA higher rate care, lower rate mobility and ESA support group with enhanced and severe disability premiums.

Council has set up a support plan to provide me with 4 carer visits on a mon and sun and 3 carer visits other days.

I am panicking now that I didn't do enough. I might have to appeal and even take it to the tribunal. If I'm not awarded PIP would I lose DLA, EDP and SDP straightaway or would I still get it during the appeal and then until tribunal result?

Also, I'm in UC full-service area, what does that mean for me?

Thanks in advance.

If you are in the UK mainland then you will only paid if you have an award while you complete an MR and if necessary an appeal, if you don't get an award then you won't be paid.

Try not focus on failing, I know that there are problems with the PIP assessment process but most claimants actually get a fair assessment and receive the award that they deserve.

You can request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, a Decision should only be 3-5 weeks.

Hi Gordon,

Hope you had a relaxing break :)

I received a letter from the DWP on 30th June (dated 26th June) saying we have all the information we need to make a decision... so it's a stressful waiting game now.

Is it ESA85 I need to request?

Thanks,
Josh

No it's a PA4 for PIP but you should be able to just ask for the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim.

Hi Gordon,

My mental health support worker phoned DWP today to ask for PA4.

The advisor told him I've been awarded enhanced rate for both components until 2021. She didn't know what PA4 was and she was confused about what assessment copy to send out. In the end, she said it must be an AP.

Thanks for your advice and guidance.

Best wishes,
Josh

Many congratulations on the award, well done.

I'm afraid I despair over the quality of DWP staff :(
