DLA to PIP [About your health professionals]

I'm not often here I must admit, despite having been a member for many years, but I have always found the resources invaluable.

I've had an indefinite award of DLA and always knew a PIP letter would come through the door at some point, which is has now.

I'll probably not be alone in NOT having any health professionals apart from a GP for prescriptions. When you've been round the referral merry-go-round for many years, there comes a point when there is nothing else that can be done anyway; the common phrase now used that I'm sure many will have heard is 'self-management'. I have Fibromyalgia, CFS, Scoliosis etc. etc. you get the picture.

At the moment, I am being investigated for Hashimoto's, currently at the GP only, not been referred anywhere. After having an appointment with my regular GP just two weeks ago, I've now been told that they've retired. That is the last of the old GP's gone and I don't know any of the others so I'm at a loss with answering the PIP form, Section 1, Q1?

Do I just put any name of the current registered GP's at my practice? Do I maybe also send them a copy of my PIP form once I've filled it in?

Any thoughts most welcome....it really is a struggle, this PIP form, but I am slowly working through the guidance.

Many thanks for all the great work that B&W do.

You should only include contact information for those that can provide you with support, if your normal GP has retired they can no longer support you.

Speak to your new GP about the support they can provide you, giving them a copy of your completed form may be one way to update them of your problems.

You can also access your medical records, there may be letter from previous referrals that you can still use for this claim.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Indeed I have asked for my records and have found them usefull as evidence for my application, HOWEVER I have only just sent my form back so time will tell if it has helped my case, depending how often you see GP and how far you want to go back it can be costly, my last lot cost me £40 but as i say i found it helpful, good luck
