Notification of Performance Measurement visit was created by PAUL1957
Hello, I have just received a letter from DWP notifying me of an appointment at my home next week. The letter states that they will visit my home between 09.00am and 3.00pm.
The purpose of the visit given is to review my benefit claim and to check that the DWP is paying me the correct amount of ESA.
So can anyone advise me about these type of visit and the real reason for them. And like so many people on this site it just adds to the worry and stress that we are already going through.
I would appreciate any help or advice please?

I am guessing that you are in the Support Group.
I'm afraid this is a cage rattling exercise by the DWP, they have no other way of engaging with SG claimants and use this exercise as a reason for contacting them.
There shouldn't be any reason to worry about the visit and yo never know, they may find that they have been underpaying you.

Hello Gordon
Thank you so much for your reply, and yes you are correct I am in the support group.
So what i am sure about is what i need to have for my visit apart from the 2 forms of identification?. Because i always thought that being in the support group it wasn't means tested in anyway?.
Are they also likely to ask me any questions on my medical condition as part of their visit?
It states on the letter that they will be coming to see me between 09.00am and 3.00pm, and I'm sure like many other people on this site that the worry, pain and stress that will cause to me will certainly not help especially if its 3.00pm when they arrive.
I look forward to your reply
Kind regards
Paul

Being in the SG does not mean that your ESA is not means tested, it is the type of ESA that determines this. ESA(CB) is not means tested with the exception of pension income, any ESA(IR) you receive is means tested.
I would have recent bank statements available and if you have working partner, details of their employment but wait to be asked for them, don't just offer them.

Hello Gordon
Thank you for your reply and I forgot to mention that I am on CB ESA and also in the support group.
I receive a pension after being retired on the grounds of ill health and the amount is £120 per week. So how will that affect what I currently receive?. And do I still need to show bank statements or just proof of the pension I receive?. I have been on IB/ESA since 1997.
Also can I ask if any medical questions are likely to be asked on the day of the performance visit?
Regards
Paul

Are the DWP aware of your pension payment?
If not then this could be a serious issue as there will have been a recoverable over payment of your ESA.
I would not expect any questions about your health except in the general sense, the DWP do not have any staff qualified to assess claimants for ESA.
