ESA evidence being used for PIP was created by Lyla
Hi Gordon, welcome back I hope you’ve had a good break. I received my first pip review in May since being given a 5 year award in 2014. I was expecting it as I’d been told it would be reviewed a year early. With only 10 days until the deadline, I filled it in as best as I could detailing some changes as I’ve been diagnosed with two other conditions but with such a short deadline I didn’t have time to request a report from my GP. I’ve been receiving esa in the support group for 12 years but I’ve never had a face to face assessment (my first was for pip in 2014) My question is, will the dwp use the information from my last esa review in 2016 (when reviewing my pip) even though I didn’t have a face to face assessment? I don’t even know if they contacted my GP, I just presumed they had. In a way I’m hoping they will as looking back over the copy of my esa50 form I’ve detailed quite a lot of information on a condition I’ve been diagnosed with since my pip award. I probably should have informed pip as well at the time of diagnosis in 2015 but I was scared of “rocking the boat” Thanks for reading. Sorry for the long post. I hope it all makes sense.

As this is a reassessment for PIP I think it very unlikely that they will look at any ESA report, if you think that this report is important to your claim then I would send a copy with a covering letter explaining how it is relevant to the PIP activities that you have problems with.

Thank you for your reply Gordon. I’m seeing my GP this week. I think I’ll ask her for a full medical report to be on the safe side.

Thanks Gordon. I think I'll request a report from my GP. There's a huge backlog of reviews. Even after 8 weeks it's still only with the case manager so hopefully I'll have time to submit it.
