i made a claim for pip twelve months ago i went through the reconsideration process and then on to appeal i have finally been awarded 10 points for daily living since my appeal decision i have been for a hearing test and now have 2 hearing aids this would come under the communication part of any claim i have been in touch with the dwp and have been told that i have to go through the whole process again and make a new claim and that i may have to have another asesmant as my appeal was on 31/may 2018 can they reduce my award on anew claim when all i need to do is tell them about a change to my hearing in such a short time do you think it is highly likely that i will have to have a new asesmant when everything about my previous claim is the same except my hearing surely after just twelve months this wont be the case i have been given a ten year award if i claim again will there be a chance that i would lose what i already get

Hello Simon,

Firstly there is always a danger that your award could be removed or reduced if you report a change of circumstances. When you had your tribunal had you already reported difficulties with your hearing in your original claim. or are you reporting the change as a new condition?. Be mindful of the fact that its not the condition that you may receive an award for, its how it affects your ability to function day to day.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
