Failed award for PIP-mandatory reconsideration

Hello,

I have just got my letter back from the DWP regarding my PIP mandatory reconsideration. They have not changed their minds and I have been awarded standard mobility but no daily living componant.
I found the response and reasons they would not award me the daily living componant really insulting and they had just completely ignored the evidence I had sent them. They totally dismissed what I said and seemed to not understood the way my anxiety effects me and how my M.E fluctuates. I feel like they have totally ignored everything I have sent in. I don't know if I have the physical strength or mental strength to pursue a tribunal case. I just don't know what to do. Are there any organisations that can help me go to tribunal and someone to come with me? The mandatory reconsideration process made my illnesses worse so I am worried that I will get sicker from this process. I just feel bullied by them and don't know what to do at all. Many thanks for your time.

Hello Sdarby,

Im sorry to hear that the MR did not change your original award. If you google welfare advice in your area, it will bring up whats available to you. You may want to seek the assistance of your local Citizens Advice Bureau but they are unlikely to be able to accompany you to any tribunal but may help you prepare any appeal papers. Please be mindful of the fact that if you decide to go to appeal the whole award may be looked at. So you need to weigh carefully the pros and cons before making a decision but within the permitted time frame. Please take a look at the members PIP guide which explains the appeal process etc.,

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
