More PIP confusion was created by Tatty2Shoes
Hello, I have been trying to follow all of the news about the governments decision to look at a large number of PIP claims again in the vain hope that my two rejected (wrongly in my opinion) claims from 2016 and 2018 will be reviewed and that the original decision will be overturned.
However I am more confused than ever after visiting my local C.A.B. for advice on this today. I was looking on their website at the information thay have on this matter read a paragraph that said and I quote 'if you claimed before 28th November 2016 and yu didn't get the mobilitty component or got a lower rate than you expected, contact your nearest C.A.B. for advice' and as I had read elswhere that even if your claim was refused and/or you received no points then your claim may be looked at again. Anyway I went along for advice, explained my situation and was told the reviews only apply to people who were previously getting higher rate DLA for mobility? I was given a telephone number for Welfare Rights and told they would have all of the information and would answer my queries. So I rang them them and was told they help people with appeals and suggested I ring the PIP department and ask them. Oh and incidentally it was suggested to me that at age 64 I forget the whole thing, wait til I'm 65 and try and claim attendance allowance...I am so frustrated at the sytem, so very angry at the lies on not one but two medical reports and so very very confused as to which advice is right! I have read the news on here regarding claims being looked at again (and thanks once more to Gordon for your reply) but my head is spinning, any advice at all from anyone? :-/

Ignore most of what you have been told as it is rubbish :(

the following News Item has the latest information, although it may not clarify anything as the situation is complicated.

The DWP are going to contact claimants who may have been effected by the changes to the legislation, they do not want claimants to contact them, the department that is dealing with the review is separate from the normal PIP teams.

Gordon, thank you for your very prompt response and for the link too which I will look at later.
The whole process/system seems to be confusing not only claimants but Welfare Advisors too!
