In her opening speech on 6th July the judge threatened us with prison if we were to try and record the hearing-which we weren't- but said hearings can be recorded at certain suitably equipped centres where you can have the hearing if you so request.
Btw thankfully we did get a favourable decision standard x2 to Enhanced x 2 in the post afterwards.
Does anyone know any more about this, as we would certainly choose this in future?

Recording a Tribunal is Contempt of Court which can result in time in prison, although this would be very unusual.

You can request the hearing is recorded but will need to show reason for this to be done, the claimant having hearing problems or a cognitive impairment may be accepted. It will also depend on whether the facility is physically available at the venue.

Mmm, thank you Gordon, as stated we were not attempting to record the hearing - wouldn't have even thought of it - but this was what the judge said. Maybe because we did record the F2F -though we had done that exactly by the book-and submitted a transcript .
She did not mention the reasons you do for requesting an official recording and it was because I had never heard of official hearing recordings at all that I asked for more info. The judge did not say how one would go about making that request either. Our daughter does suffer from 'brain fog' due to CFS, fibro, hypothryroid, Ehlers Danlos, high dose of Tramadol.. and would like a recording if available but i don't know what standard of evidence of need the HMCTS would be looking for.
Thanks,

The request would be made to the Clerk of the Court at the venue as to evidence, I'm afraid you will have to see what is requested.
