DLA to PIP was created by housemouse93
First time posting. I asked for extension in returning PIP form, freely given 2 weeks, I wanted help from CAB but appt. a month away, was given a further 2 weeks by DM no problem. Followed your guidelines, phoned only to check my form was received, given update also, is it usual for a DM to decide if a ftf is needed ? I assumed ftf was par for the course. I accepted updates by text, but kept getting the original date in error, when I phoned about it I discovered it greatly depends on who you speak to at DWP as to how you are treated.

The vast majority of claimants will have a F2F, the decision is actually made by the Assessment Provider for your postcode.

Hi all, I know many of us wonder about timescales, I returned my DLA to PIP form week 24/8/18. Received a white envelope, for a change, today with FTF beginning October, 6 weeks in total. Seems Scottish assessment people don’t take holidays. I thought it might be longer. Here’s hoping.

I omitted to say, the accompanying leaflet says “you can only request a copy ( of Assessment) once the DWP writes to you with their decision” all I’ve read on the forum says I can phone as soon as DWP receive it. Is this on the leaflets others are receiving ?

Was the leaflet from the Assessment Provider? If it was then the statement has no value as they cannot speak for the DWP.

Yes it is, pretty colored 16 page leaflet, it’s first question under their FAQ. “Can I have a copy of the assessment report” . “ yes - but you can only request a copy once the DWP writes to you with their decision”. Lists phone number also. I realise from the forum that it’s a very short window to get a copy before a DWP decision, but interesting Atos believe they control the conditions. Appreciate your comment Gordon, I wouldn’t have thought of it that way.
