Higher rate PIP about to end, no contact from dwp! was created by Furryclure
I am on higher rates of PIP for both sections and it will end in October. Three years ago I'd had my decision by now. Is this what they are classing light touch and that'll I'll receive my award letter when this one runs out? Either way I'm not contacting them as it made me so ill last time!
Some of my other MS friends haven't even done DLA to PIP and I know of another friend who possibly only had his renewal forms last year because he wasn't on higher rate. He is now on higher rate and has been told he''ll get a call in 10 years to check everything is the same.
Has anyone else not received their renewal forms or has anyone else just received a surprise award letter in the post?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
If you have a three-year award ending in October of this year then I would have expected your award to have been reviewed last October, so I would contact the DWP to find out what is going on. The alternative is that they are treating it as a renewal but even if this was the case then they should have contacted you some eight weeks ago.
Please be aware, If you do not contact them then your award and payments will end in October.

I phoned stating I'd lost my award letter, which I had and was thinking it was due. She said your award is til 2020! I know I only got it for 3 years as you do on your first one. They must have extended it but not told me! I'm really angry that I wasn't told and have been worrying about having to go through it all again!
Still im hugely relieved! Thanks for your help

There's no "standard" first award and PIP award cannot be extended only a new award can be made.
