Another ESA50 - I have 2 questions was created by k9feline
Hello all, I am in the support group & I completed my last ESA50 in October last year. I wasn’t called for an interview this time nor did I receive any correspondence to tell me I would remain in support group.
Imagine my horror when the dreaded white envelope dropped through my letterbox yesterday, yes I have another questionnaire to complete. What I would like to know is - does anybody know what happens to the previous questionnaires we complete? Are they kept & referred to, in addition to the new form we submit, or are they destroyed (I have my own cynical doubts that this happens)? I wonder if I completed the latest questionnaire the same way as the previous one, would whoever it is responsible for the Spanish Inquisition actually notice?

On another point, I am already dreading being called for interview again because I have absolutely nobody who could accompany me & I understand that if we turn up alone to interviews it is wrongly assumed that we are well & fit for work. I have no family & the only friends I have would not be able to come with me due to their work commitments. This is already starting to stress me out & I haven’t even started filling out the form yet.

Thank you in anticipation of somebody having the answers.

As far as I aware the claimants previous ESA50's are not made available to the assessor, the DWP Decision Maker may be able to access them but if they do then it is only done rarely.

Other members have used the content from their previous ESA50 to help them complete a new one, the only thing I would recommend is for you to confirm with the ESA Claim guides that the DWP guidance for each activity has not changed since you last completed the form.

Attending on your own will not result in a Fit for Work Decision but if you have issues with going out or interacting with others then doing so will undermine your arguments that you meet these criteria.

Hi K9

Am in same boat as you re:accompanied to poss f2f.

May I suggest you try and see if there are any Advocates in your area that might accompany you.

Good luck.
Petrocelli.
