3rd ESA ASSESSMENT Apt in 6 months

Hi All

How am I going to survive my latest ESA Assessment appointment? My mind goes blank, I feel extremely xlaustrophobic/intimidated and I cannot think straight as my head feels like it’s about to explode. The only way I can answer questions is by referring to copies of the paperwork I submitted to DWP. This wasn’t allowed at my 1st appointment and the assessment didn’t continue as there was nobody else available.

The 2nd appointment a week later I was sent home from unseen due to a huge delay they said was
down to Staffing shortages.

I’ve now had this 3rd appointment through and after no help from DWP I spoke to the Centre directly. The woman put me on hold to speak to a colleague, but she failed to do it properly and I heard her refer to me as ‘this stroppy cow’.
When she came back to the phone she tried to deny it then was so condescendingly sick in her apology it meant nothing.
Both previous appointments I have had somebody with me but this time I will be going alone. I’m no spring chicken and as the time gets nearer the stress becomes more intense. I’m petrified I’ll end up having a stroke or something equally bad when I am unable to ‘conform to what they expect from me. What can I do about this situation, how can get through it without major trauma? How they expect me to be fit for work when year on year my health deteriorates and my mental health is so obviously at breaking point is beyond me.

All I can recommend is that you prepare as best you can for the assessment, the ESA Claim guide has sections that cover the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.
