PIP assessment was created by Tim tom
I have just joined and am in the process of filling out a pip form. ( currently on high rate dla and support group esa) During my esa assessment last October the hp decided not to include the medical aspect of the test - in fact the assessment only lasted 20 minutes. I learned later that the hp has the option of foregoing that part of the test
If they deem that the required number of descriptor points have been reached and that further assessment would be unnecessary and possibly stressful to the client.
Does anyone know if this option is available to a hp in the pip assessment process?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm afraid it is not, entry to the Support Group is based on the claimant meeting one or more of the SG Descriptors, once one is met it is generally accepted that those assessing them do not need to investigate further.

PIP is purely points based and the Mobility component is separate from the Daily living one, I suspect that they have to go through all of the DL activities to get to the Mobility ones.
