Being followed and photographed. was created by Judy
For about ten months now I've been followed by a car and the woman in the car has held her phone up and taken pictures of me. The reason I know this is because she's done it quite blatantly. She's parked up where I live and been parked up a little way from my parents house.
But this Friday really took the biscuit, she was a little way from my house and literally held her phone up to me, I was walking my dog, on my mobility scooter, and she literally followed me with her phone. So I looked directly at her and stared at her, she drove off. What is going on? I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be doing.

I'm afraid I don't, I can't see the DWP following anybody for as long as ten weeks let alone ten months.

If you are concerned then make a note of their car registration and contact the police.

Judy: That's creepy. Per Gordon, it would be a poor use of fraud resources to be surveilling you for that long, I suspect. Where DWP fraud cases re disability benefits are reported in the media it seems to me to entail claimants who said they couldn't walk/unaided, or couldn't perform certain physical tasks, and have been filmed contrary-wise.

I don't know how DWP determine whom to investigate. A proportion may be entirely random, but that is possibly cost-ineffective, and I think most must be intelligence-led. Many, I believe, are reported by members of the public - but DWP published a statistic such that the vast majority of these reports - in the high 90s % - result in no post-investigation action (for which read mistaken/malicious reports).

I would certainly record the reg # and contact police (911) if this continues, who may confirm if DWP. I recall reading of a case such as yours where the police came out while the car was there: officer spoke to driver, who said she was DWP, which officer reported back.

I hope your mind can be put at rest.

It really is most odd. She doesn't hide the fact that she's following me with her phone. I have the car regardless so I think I will contact the police. She knows I've seen her too. I would have thought, if she was del, that she wouldn't want to be seen?

Anyway, I'm not in debt, so don't owe anybody any money. Don't have any reason for anyone to be looking for me. Weird is what it is.

That's the thing, I'm so out of energy I literally can't do or go anywhere without my scooter. Oh how I wish I could dance on tables! They'll, if it is them, will be sorely disappointed. Some days all I can do is breathe and blink.

J: 'Cos of the blatancy I don't think it's DWP. It seems to me that as this person's 'in your face' there's potential for a harassment claim, and I don't think DWP would risk that. I'm sure they're covert. But if not DWP - who? Although you're not at fault this may be stressful and disconcerting, going on for so long... I'm sorry.
