Need to prepare from teens lifetime DLA to PIP

Hi
I have just had the home visit from DWP to remain advocate
for my child in preparation of the switch over to PIP.
He was awarded full mobility & care on lifetime award in 2014. I asked about the PIP claim forms and supporting evidence to enclose? She said unless medical conditions have changed, i.e improved (which they haven’t) then I do not need to enclose anything??
Reason being because he will automatically have a medical assessment?
I obviously am worried that this information is wrong?
It took me well over a week to get all reports, etc needed for the initial DLA claim back in 2014. Too be left with no vehicle, added funding for him because of wrong information worries me.
Any advice is welcome

What you have been told is completely wrong, although it is very likely that your son will have to have a face to face assessment.

The criteria for PIP is fundamentally different from DLA, even if the information you used for his 2014 DLA award was used in regard to his PIP claim, it may not actually result in an award.

Our advice is to submit supporting evidence with his PIP claim, that way you know what has been made available and you can integrate it into your answer on the PI claim form.

Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for details of the process and the criteria you will need to go through when invited to claim.
