Hi, wondering if you could give me any advice or had any experience on this.

I am currently in the support group for ESA and i recently sent my esa renewal form in. Following this i was sent an appointment for a medical .In the meantime i was able to get a doctors note. I sent this doctors note into the dwp and a copy into the health assessment centre as well.

I was unable to make the first appointment for a medical that i was given as i need someone with me so i called and rearranged and i was given a new date. I had also requested by phone and i wrote formally to have my medical recorded as in the past the medicals have been far from right.

I received a cancellation letter from them for the second appointment- i assumed this was due to my request for my medical to be recorded as i have read on here they need to get the equipment and this can take some time. They said in this letter they would write again with another appointment.

However this morning i have received a letter from the health assessment centre to say:

'a healthcare professional has reviewed the further medical evidence received, and in respect of this has now decided that it is no longer necessary that you undergo an assessment at this time.

Any current appointments have therefore been cancelled

Your file has been returned to the DWP.'

I assume the further evidence is my doctors note i sent in.

Is this a good thing? does this mean i will stay in the support group do you think?
Im going to phone the DWP after but i just wanted to see if anyone had any experience of this?
Surely they wouldnt be able to downgrade me to the work related group without having the chance of a medical? How could that be fair?

thanks in advance.

So the letter is saying that they have done a Paper Baser Review, this is usually a good thing but I cannot guarantee that you will remain in the Support Group although it is likely, only that you cannot be found Fit for Work without a face to face assessment.
