TOPIC: IB medical but got HRC + HRM

IB medical but got HRC + HRM 7 years 10 months ago #12974

Hi guys I have a medical in the morning for IB / IS, but this morning (thanks to the help from the docs in the members section) I got my letter saying I have DLA at both high rate.

So what do I do about my medical I understand I am now exempt and shouldn`t need to attend, but what should I do turn up or phone with an excuse not to go, giving time for the DLA decision to reach them?

thanks to everybody for the past help (I read the forum all the time) and any future help......

You are exempt from the PCA by virtue of the fact you receive the highest rate of the DLA care component.

I would ring the customer services whose telephone number will be recorded on the correspondence sent to you by I presume Atos, and explain your recent award of DLA and the HRCC. This should be sufficient for the medical to be cancelled. If they need written confirmation, you could always send them a copy of your award letter.

You are providing Atos with a valid reason as opposed to an excuse not to attend the medical assessment; consequently the reason should be accepted without question.
