TOPIC: Entitlement whislt on ESA appeal rate

Entitlement whislt on ESA appeal rate 7 years 6 months ago #13030

Hi

I would like to know what i'm entitled to whilst on the ESA appeal rate? I'm due for a tribunal soon and am claiming the appeal rate in the meantime. I have been told by the NHS Business authority that i am entilted to free dental care if i receive income related ESA. They are not sure about an appeal rate entitlement. It's not made clear to me what else i'm entitled to whilst on ESA, do i get free eye tests etc? Hope you can help!

Thanks

Hi Simple,

I'm not in the office so I can't look this up, but as far as I know your entitlement to health benefits depends not on what phase of ESA you are in - assessment or main - but on whether you are on contribution or income-related ESA. Whilst you are appealing you are in the assessment phase, there isn't a separate phase for appeals.

The health related benefits for income-related ESA are, again as far as I can recall, the same as for people on income support.
