Appeal DLA 7 years 4 months ago #14592

  • jellybaby
I have ostioarthrits which was diagnosed in 2002,I have carried on working up until Aug last year and then could just not cope any more so decided to claim DLA with the help of this website, sadly I have been refused on the grounds of medication, treatment and I am able to cook a meal for one safely.
I am unable to take lots of medication because they upset my stomach like Tramadol and Morphine so I just take naproxen and Co coldamol. How can a person who has not met or ever seen me know wether I can bend down to the oven.
As for treatment I have been having physiotherapy since 2002. I now have narrowing discs in my lower spine and sciatica.
I have just received my appeal papers but it is worth going through with if I get refused again.:(

Yes I would certainly advise going to appeal as there statistics for people going to a face to face appeal and winning are good and even better if you can secure some form of qualified representation. See the DLA Appeals guides in the members section for further details.

Furthermore going to an appeal gives you the oportunity to explain to a panel of independent people exactly what your problems are which is much easier than trying to explain them on paper.

Always worth appealing; after all you will not be in a worse position than you are now by appealing will you?

Good Luck!:)
