Online DLA form was created by Steve
Hello All,

This is my first post. I know I can apply for DLA on-line but are there any problems or disadvantages using this system. My handwriting is dreadful due to Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Also the W&B site says there is a 14 page guide to filling the online form but I can't find it-any clues?

Thanks in anticipation

Steve Kelly

Hi,

It's all down to personal choice. Personally, although I use IT extensively, I personally prefer to complete applications for DLA using the hard copy form.
Others will say they prefer completing a claim online which can be saved and further completed when they have the energy, plus it can be typed rather than handwritten.

All the DLA Resources are in the members area HERE

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Jim

Another method is to complete the form online then print it off. One of the advantages of this is that as you type and approach the end of the boxes where they ask you to provide extra information the font size automatically gets smaller to accommodate the extra lines.

However as has been said it's a matter of personal preference as to which method one prefers.

Hi Steve,

What we did with my DLA and my husbands ESA was to type it on word, save and print a copy. Then stuck the printed piece under each appropriate heading making sure to incluse NI number at each heading.

I found the one that you fill in on your PC was the easiest as I just went back to it when I felt able and then saved the up to date version on to my PC. I was also able to "add" additional pages as I thought necessary and also save them to my PC.

At the end, when I was satisfied with it, I printed it out and sent it off. The original copy is still on my PC if I need to refer back to it at any time.

Whatever you decide, good luck with your application.
