Tax exempt IB - what next ? was created by Dippypud

Hi everyone, at the moment I receive IB, because this was awarded before 1992 it is classed as a non-taxable benefit.

What happens when I am moved to JSA/ESA, will this be treated as a "new" award?

Will I lose the non-tax status? :unsure:

I think I read something about this recently and it will be taxed. I can't see them leaving it alone because their aim is to level everything down to the minimum and they really loathe IB.

Para 6.16 on p12 of the report available from the following link confirms that tax will be payable when transferred to ESA from IB:
