In June my conditioned worsened by me contacting Ulcerative Colitis and ending up in hospital now been told I will have it for life so I cannot control my bladder due do prorate or bowls due to Colitis as I could not attend my courses as I was ill with colitis and going to hospital I was sent another ESA50 that had to go back by the 12 of October I filled it in with the added information saying my condition had worsened sent it in on the 16 of September. I got a letter back on the 20th of September saying they had not received it they have still not let me know what to do next can they just stop my benefits if the form and evidence has got lost.

Hi PauH

You said that the ESA50 has to be returned by the 16th October, therefore the letter you received on the 20th September sounds like the standard reminder letter.

As you sent the ESA50 just four days earlier they probably did not receive it in time to stop the reminder. Therefore, if the dates are correct you have nothing to worry about, just phone them to confirm that they have received the form, as it is still two weeks before the deadline.

Regards

Derek

Hi Derek

Two weeks later I got a phone call from the job centre to go to a medical in Balham Medical Centre I explained I could not make as I have uncontrollable bowls.

I said as there are no toilets on the train I would not arrive in a fit and clean state for the medical I asked the person on the phone is there anything they can do to get me somewhere nearer and he stated he was going to arrange a home visit and confirm it by post still waiting for the letter from them.

I got a letter on Saturday saying I had to go to Wimbledon instead I don't think they understand about Ulcerative Colitis the Doctors and the Hospital say it is a disease IBD and cannot be cured but they can give me medication that helps the condition but no promises so once again the A.T.O.S Medical Team have taken the hard line.

What will happen if I arrive at the medical in a mess this could really happen as when I get the stomach cramps I can not hold what follows the trains do not have toilets and I am very worried this will happen.

Do I continue to the appointment in a mess or do I ago back home and clean myself up and telephone them and tell them at the medical centre.

It's a pity that it would be so uncomfortable and embarrassing to turn up for the medical in that state, otherwise I think that it would go a long way towards convincing an Atos doctor of your problems.
